Meet the Founder
Some of my earliest and fondest memories as a child are of staying with my Grandparents. Every morning, my Grandmother would sit at her dressing table to get ready, she would put her hair in rollers and do her make up — it was a beautiful ritual.
I found it incredibly relaxing to watch, it was never rushed, and there was never any guilt attached to taking that time for herself. It was simply her time to physically and mentally prepare for the day.
She was in her sixties then and, after an incredibly busy life running a bakery with my Grandfather and raising two children, this had always remained part of her day. I learnt very early on that women were superhuman, so much of my work ethic today comes from watching my Grandparents. That wonderful ritual was passed down to my Mum and then to me, I learnt so much about beauty from the incredible women in my family.
I knew from a very young age that I wanted to become a make up artist and I was lucky enough to be accepted to study at the University of the Arts London, where I covered everything from fashion and editorial to classic beauty and bridal.
I went on to work as an in-house Artist and Product Specialist at MAC, where I met so many talented women who became some of my closest friends. Our days off were spent helping each other on shoots, building our professional portfolios and learning from one another, this was such a fun chapter of my life.
During this time, I also gained my professional hairdressing qualification. I knew I wanted to be able to offer both hair and make up, which led me to work in various salons across Surrey alongside my private make up work.
Over the years, I have been lucky enough to be part of so many beautiful weddings. To all of my past brides, thank you so much for trusting me with one of the most important days of your lives, you have given me so much in return.
After having my twin boys and relocating our family to the Cotswolds, I found myself feeling a little lost — something I know so many new mums will relate to. It was during that time that I felt inspired to create something I could pour all my years of experience into.
Liv. was born out of a desire to reimagine the way we experience beauty — to bring back those rituals our Mothers and Grandmothers instinctively made time for. To empower women to trust their instincts, rediscover their identity and, most importantly, give themselves permission to take time for themselves.
To the mum of young children who feels a little lost, the woman who has battled with her health, the woman navigating divorce or heartbreak — I see you. I hope that Liv. can be a a place that helps you find your way back to you.
